I got one of these for Christmas, and I wasn't sure about it. I'm not a fan of buying capsules, but I figured what the heck. So I gave it a try, and I absolutely love this thing. It's cool, it's really small and doesn't take up much counter space. It fires up in no time, and it makes a top notch cup of espresso. I really like the lungo pods (long shot of espresso - 4 oz.) I actually wanted to make my rating more like 4.5 stars because of the cost factor involved with both the machine and the coffee products, but for me that's not enough to knock off a whole star. My coffee consumption is only 1 cup per day and I previously used "singles", which look just like tea bags but brew coffee instead. Those make quite good coffee if you have no need of a whole pot, but I was always jacking it up with flavored creamers. I also love getting coffee drinks from restaurant establishments, so the idea of making that type of thing at home was appealing. From the first time I saw an ad for Dolce Gusto, I was on a mission to get one. The pressurized process seemed more desirable to make frothy latte and strong espresso. I decided to go middle of the road and chose Genio because it's automated but not with every bell and whistle. The instruction manual is mostly in pictorial form and it was a little baffling as regards the settings for the wheel. On the other hand, the... Read more
